Diablo II Compatibility Issues and Workarounds

Windows

Run Diablo II in compatibility mode.

Right-click the Diablo II icon and click Properties.

Click the Compatibility tab.

Check Run this program in compatibility mode.

Select Windows XP Service Pack 2 from the dropdown.

Windows Vista / Windows 7 only: make sure Disable desktop composition and Run this program as an administrator are checked.

Click OK.

Run the Video Test in the Diablo II install directory.

Select Direct3D.

Run Diablo II in administrator mode.

Make sure the game is patched to the latest version.

If the above steps don t work, try running the game in windowed mode:

Click the Shortcut tab.

Add -w to the end of the Target. For example: C: DiabloII Diablo II.exe -w

Mac

Mac OS X 10.7 and Higher

Diablo II is not compatible with the newest Mac operating systems. While these titles may continue to operate on Lion using Boot Camp, we cannot provide official support.
